Privacy Policy

Note: This policy describes our actual data practices but has not yet completed final review by qualified legal counsel. It will be reviewed and, where required, revised by counsel qualified in the applicable jurisdictions before launch.

Who we are

Panama Real Estate Reviews ("we") operates panamarealestatereviews.com, a review and comparison platform for real estate agencies and brokers in Panama. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your choices. Data protection questions: contact@panamarealestatereviews.com.

What we collect and why

Account data. Email address, display name, and password hash, to operate your account and contact you about your reviews and requests. Legal basis: performance of our terms with you.

Reviews. Your review text, star rating, and the display name shown with it. Reviews are public by design. We store submission metadata (timestamps, technical identifiers) to run fraud and moderation checks.

Verification evidence. If you verify a review, or verify a business profile, you submit documents (contracts, invoices, IDs, licences, corporate records). Evidence is used solely to make the verification decision. It is never published, never shown to the other party, and access is restricted to staff performing verification. See "Retention" below.

Leads. If you use a contact form asking a specific provider to contact you, we share the details you enter (name, contact details, your message) with that provider — only after your explicit consent on the form, and only with the provider you selected. We keep a record of the consent and the transmission. Providers receive lead data under terms restricting use to answering your enquiry; their subsequent processing is under their own responsibility.

Business claims. For claimed profiles we process the claimant's name, role, contact details, and connecting evidence.

Technical data. Server logs (IP address, user agent, requested pages) for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.

Cookies

Our cookie use is minimal: strictly necessary cookies for sessions and security. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. If we ever add analytics beyond privacy-preserving aggregate measurement, this policy and the site's cookie notice will be updated first.

Infrastructure and international transfers

The platform runs on Cloudflare infrastructure (hosting, storage, content delivery, and security services). Data is processed on Cloudflare's global network, which may involve processing outside your country. Cloudflare acts as our processor under its data processing terms.

Who we share data with

• Providers: only lead data you consented to send, and your public review content (which they see like anyone else).
• Processors: infrastructure and email delivery providers, bound by contract to process only on our instructions.
• Authorities: where a valid legal obligation compels disclosure.

We do not sell personal data. We never share verification evidence with the reviewed or reviewing party.

Retention

• Reviews: retained while published; if you delete a review, the public content is removed and residual records are kept only as needed for fraud prevention and legal defence.
• Verification evidence: retained only as long as needed to support the verification decision and its auditability, then deleted. You may request earlier deletion of evidence; note that deleting evidence underlying an active verification may cause the verified status to lapse at the next re-check.
• Leads: consent and transmission records retained for accountability; message content deleted when no longer needed.
• Logs: short rotation, kept longer only for investigated security incidents.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent where processing is based on it, by emailing contact@panamarealestatereviews.com. Account deletion: you can delete your account; this removes your account data and, at your choice, your reviews (or anonymises them). We answer rights requests within 30 days. You may also complain to the data protection authority competent for you; for Panama, the framework of Law 81 of 2019 applies.

Children

The platform is not directed at minors and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

Material changes to this policy are announced on this page with the effective date before they take effect.
